Reimagining Luxury Skincare Packaging

A strategic packaging refresh developed for two premium brands within the international UHI Cosmetics portfolio. Packaging is often the first physical expression of a brand. In the luxury cosmetics market, it must do more than protect a product. It must communicate quality, create desire, support recognition, and transform every interaction into part of the brand experience.

I developed a series of packaging concepts for UHI Cosmetics, an international cosmetics company with a presence across 34 countries at the time of the project. The work focused on the latest evolution of two of its premium skincare brands: Adore Cosmetics and Kristals Cosmetics.

The Challenge

The objective was to refresh the existing packaging while preserving the recognition, positioning, and premium character each brand had already established.

This required more than introducing a new visual style. Every decision needed to respect the identity of each product line while creating a more contemporary, cohesive, and distinctive presence within a highly competitive international market.

The Design Approach

I approached the project as the development of two connected but individually recognizable packaging systems.

Typography, color, composition, finishes, product information, and brand identifiers were explored as strategic elements. Each concept was designed to strengthen the perceived value of the product, establish a clearer hierarchy, and create consistency across different packaging formats.

The work focused on:

  • Preserving the equity and recognition of each brand

  • Refining the hierarchy of product and brand information

  • Creating a more contemporary luxury aesthetic

  • Strengthening consistency across collections and formats

  • Supporting a scalable system for future product development

  • Differentiating each brand while maintaining UHI Cosmetics’ premium positioning

Adore Cosmetics

For Adore Cosmetics, the concepts explored a sophisticated and modern expression built around innovation, refinement, and premium skincare.

The packaging direction was designed to feel polished and confident while maintaining the visual familiarity expected by the brand’s established audience. The result was a more structured system capable of creating consistency across an extensive portfolio without making every product feel identical.

Kristals Cosmetics

For Kristals Cosmetics, the design exploration emphasized the brand’s distinctive connection to precious gemstones, luxury, and sensory experience.

The concepts translated these attributes into a refined packaging language that balanced visual richness with clarity. The objective was to create an elevated presentation that felt exclusive and memorable while remaining functional across multiple products and collections.

Balancing Recognition and Reinvention

Refreshing an established brand requires restraint as much as creativity.

Change must be meaningful, not decorative. The packaging needed to feel new without becoming disconnected from the products customers already recognized. It also had to communicate quickly across different retail environments, markets, and cultural contexts.

The concepts balance familiarity with progress, giving both brands a renewed visual presence while protecting the identity and value they had already built.

The Result

This project demonstrates how packaging design can renew an established product line without erasing its history.

More than a visual update, the concepts created strategic foundations for Adore Cosmetics and Kristals Cosmetics, allowing each brand to evolve with greater clarity, consistency, and impact while maintaining its own distinctive expression within the UHI Cosmetics portfolio.
